September 28th is Confucius’s birthday, which also means is Teacher’s day in Taiwan. So, I decided to take a trip to Taichung county where there is a Confucius temple. You hear the word temple, and may think of Chinese people dressing very traditionally at this temple. But, no you’re wrong. We found these married couples taking their wedding photos at the temple in black. Very unusual color to me, but they’ve got their own punkish fashion style. She was wearing long, black wedding dress with black high heeled boots! She told me that she wanted her wedding album to be different. She’s supposed to be wearing traditional Chinese dress at this temple, to show some respect. But, she quoted “I just wanted to be unique, I love my black wedding dress, and thats my color!”

Confucius (551-479 BCE), according to Chinese tradition, was a thinker, political figure, educator, and founder of the Ru School of Chinese thought. His teachings, preserved in the Lunyu or Analects, form the foundation of much of subsequent Chinese speculation on the education and comportment of the ideal man, how such an individual should live his live and interact with others, and the forms of society and government in which he should participate. Fung Yu-lan, one of the great 20^th century authorities on the history of Chinese thought, compares Confucius’ influence in Chinese history with that of Socrates in the West.

“An Italian fashion chain has stoked controversy with an advertisement featuring a naked anorexic woman. The ad, which is intended to raise awareness about eating disorders, is timed to coincide with Milan fashion week.”This disturbing Nolita advertisement campaign has shocked a lot of people. Basically the photographer Oliviero Toscani wanted to show that eating disorders causes anorexia, and in the fashion world most people are becoming too thin. In 1992, he also presented a picture of a man dying with AIDS. A slogan above the naked photograph reads “No Anorexia.” The fashion group that owns the Nolita brand state that the Toscani’s aim was “”to use naked body to show everyone reality of illness, caused in most cases by the stereotypes imposed by the world of fashion.”

The woman in the photo is Isabelle Caro from France, who is 27 years old and has been anorexic for 15 years. She weighs a mere 31 kg (68 lb) and suffers from the skin disease psoriasis. “I hid myself and covered myself up for too long,” she told the magazine Vanity Fair in an interview. “Now I want to show myself without fear, even though I know my body is repugnant.”

The well known Okizoo Crew had their latest underground party last weekend in a traditional old Thai concrete house. I had to stop by, since all of their other parties at the Breaks Bar were amazing. But this time was different, it was not just a huge party, they were shooting an Okizoo promotional video for the song “Walk of Flames.” It was such a good opportunity for all of us to be on TV, and my favorite guy (Trix 1) was going to be there so there I am with everyone else shaking our booty and going wild with the beat. The film was professionally and well done, with the professional make-up artist carrying her huge make-up kit full of Bobbi Brown and Mac cosmetics products. I was waiting in line for my make-up to be professionally done so that I’d look good on TV. You knew who the important characters were, because they were all matching in wearing the color of pink. The shirts are from A.IN.T which stands for Art In Transit. I feel good going to this kind of party because I do not have to worry about my image, and what I’ve got to wear to impress other people. Everyone dressed up very relaxing- a pair of jeans and a T-shirts, while the ladies were in tank-tops, shorts and flip-flops. The music wasn’t like “I love my B-A-N-A-N-N-A” it was actually good underground music. It’s hard to find something like this in Bangkok, should check it out sometimes if you’ve never been there! Did you guess it right? Yes it’s Britney Spears wearing her sloppy outfit. Her white tank-top with a long reddish orange bottom that seems to be falling off of her waist. There she’s trying to show off her purple underwear, along with her ugly tattoo. I think she really needs to do something about her hair…shave it again or something. At least she doesn’t have hair flying in her mouth when her hair was shaved. Britney smoking while she’s walking out of the parking lot, looking as if she just got out of bed.
