Should Young Girls Be Wearing Make-Up?

I got my first make-up kit when I was in second grade. Basically, it was just lipsticks and kid powder. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was probably the best gift I’ve ever got when I was a kid. As a kid, I’d always put on my mother’s lip-sticks and pearls in front of the mirror and wearing her heels pretending to be grown ups.

Barbie World Cute Young Girls

Recently, in Buenos Aires opened up the world’s first Barbie Store that offers girls hairstyles, makeup at the Barbie beauty parlor and the opportunity to try on gowns and play with dolls while their parents sip coffee and in the Barbie Cafe. The purpose of this store is not to sell “Barbie’s” but to sell fashion clothes and accessories to young girls. On the other hand, The owner of the shop quotes “It’s OK for them to dress up like Barbie for a couple of hours,” But when they go home, they’re still little girls.”

Pretty Young Girls

So, their main aim is marketing to 2-8 years old in this Barbie world. Is this too much for young girls? Are little girls growing up a little too fast? I think it’s good to be a kid, and shouldn’t worry about expensive clothes and make-ups right? But it is also a good idea to have a store for children to “imitate” adults (process of a child’s learning). Just for a few hours, let the girls have some fun while their parents nibble pink-frosted desserts in the Barbie cafe.

Note: Children have delicate and sensitive skins, which means they can be allergic to cosmetic make-ups. It may cause skin rashes, itchiness, and blistering. It is better for children to stay away from cosmetic make up.
