Everyone has enough sunglasses in classic black and brown, but what celebs really dig these days are thick rimmed, colored frames. These thick-rimmed glasses were often called “Clark Kent” glasses in reference to the Superman comic character. As a means of mockery, the thick frames were worn without the glass, and really, it’s because the wearer did not actually need glasses. It’s either to stay in the trend, or to look dumb and geeky.
Celebrities that have shown their true geekiness like, Cate Blanchett wearing her nerdy looking thick-rimmed glasses, Paris Hilton is going for the candy apple red frames for the sporty, trendy look. For guys with thick rimmed glasses are either wanna-be intellectuals, designers-to-be, or what I call a good-looking-nerd.  Below, Zach Braff in his favorite and only pair of thick-rimmed glasses. What do you think of this on him?
The 2008 Summer show, Paul Smith sending his models down the catwalk in the Harry Potter Nerdy Frames look. But…Seriously? Is this the new trend?!
Many celebrities have been seen with the current trend for the thick-framed glasses. In his 2008 summer show, Paul Smith sent his models down the catwalk in the ‘Harry Potter’ nerdy frames look.
And not only are the celebs wearing them. Girls in the clubs, Asian girls shopping on the street and MCs in the clubs are also in the spotlight for their vintage eye-wear looks.

I am not a fan of this trend, and hope it won’t last too long. What are your opinions with people wearing thick-rimmed glasses?

I have a clip from the Paris Hilton movie on my website. To bad it got relased onto the net for everyone to look at. She did not want it to be released as it was her ex Rick Salomon that lost it.
