Inexpensive Mother Day’s Gift

The majority of countries celebrate Mother Day on the second Sunday of May. Mother’s Day is a special day for everyone! We use this day to honor our mothers all over the world! Many Asian countries that celebrate Mother’s Day tend to draw heavily from the United States’ tradition.  Perhaps the most unique Asian Mother’s Day holiday takes place in Thailand. The celebration coincides with the birthday of their beloved queen, Sirikit Kitayakara, who has reigned since 1950. August 12th the Queen’s birthday and therefore Mother’s Day takes place on that special day.

In Taiwan Mother’s day is also celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This means, I need to start preparing my Mother Day’s gift!  For those who are also struggling with what to do on Mother Day’s here are some ideas for you:

Remember when you were a child you used to make your own arts and crafts in school? You’d dedicated your art work for your mom? Remember the priceless smile on the face of your mother when she saw whatever you had created with your own two little hands and then said “I love you” as you handed it to her proudly? So this Mother’s Day, don’t forget to create layouts about the special things that were said and done for you.

2.  Love in the Jar

Write all the things you wish to say to your loving mother in the jar. Cut out pieces of papers, and write down some jokes and love then roll it up and place it in the jar. It will be fun for her to read all the little notes!

If you’re too busy, and do not have the time to make the ideas above then sending flowers might be the best idea. Remember, you got to send something! Your loving mother needs your attention!  Check online for flowers to send, and don’t forget to match it with a nice card!

2.  Phone Call

Since I will be a thousand miles away from my mom, along with my other precious gifts, I will also be sending my love over the phone! Yes, don’t forget to ring her up on this special occasion.  She will need to show off to her colleagues and friends that her son/daughter is calling her!
