As the world becomes abuzz with the new presidential race in the United States, it’s becoming increasingly harder to know who just might win the coveted position in office. One thing that we can all decide for ourselves now, though, is who the most fashionable man is.
Let’s make up some categories and you can decide for yourself who wins each round!
You can see Barack wearing his standard blue power tie. Power ties in the US are usually royal blue or bold red, evoking the colors of the national flag. Here you can see Barack’s tie accenting the flag behind him.
Then there’s John McCain. He also used the red/blue combination, and went for the light blue shirt to accent the walls behind him. So who wins this round??
From time to time throughout the campaign, candidates like to show that they have a softer, less formal side to them. They do this by taking off their neckties and letting loose a little in public. Here you can see John McCain taking off his jacket to hug his good friend, George W. Bush. The light shirt looks breathable and comfortable as well. What do you think-is he comfortable?
Barack chose to stick with the jacket, but lose the tie in this informal interview that was held in a garden terrace. Again, he chooses the crisp white undershirt in contrast with McCain’s choice of light blue. Who wins round 2??
Every politician must engage in what’s known to many as the awkward public appearance. This is where the candidates, following the advice of their PR teams, try to blend in with people from everyday walks of life by dressing in their clothes, and doing what they do. As American statesmen don’t have so much time to live in the real world, it usually makes for a good laugh! Who do you think pulled it off better?
McCain chose to make his statement with some new eyewear, during a tour of a factory, rubbing shoulders with blue-collared workers. You can see his fashionable wife behind him and to the right as well. This almost looks like a U2 video!
Barack chose to do his awkward public appearance on the basketball court, as he is most familiar with this one (don’t watch him bowl!). You can see him touting a United States Marine Corp shirt as he plays with some local hotshots. Who wins the final round, folks?!?
